The African American Association of Rappahannock County (AAARC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and preserve the rich history and stories of African Americans in Rappahannock County, Virginia. We want to promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the vital roles and contributions they have made to our community throughout history.

We believe that understanding this important history, reflecting both adversity and achievements, can serve to inspire, unite, and strengthen our community ties.

We strive to foster a deeper understanding of the African American experience through education, research, and community engagement.
