Help ECS Build the Fauquier Senior Hub

Founded in 1972, ECS has been serving the community for 52 years.

We are one of 40 Community Services Boards (CSBs) and 25 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in Virginia, and the only agency that combines both. 

Did you know that among seniors:

• 1 in 3  experience social isolation
• 1 in 11 face food insecurity
• 1 in 5 homeless are 55+

Encompass Community Supports plans to purchase land and construct a permanent, mixed-use facility that will serve as both a vibrant community hub and supportive housing solution for older adults.

 The proposed facility will include:

• A welcoming senior center on the main level offering:
  • Nutrition and health promotion programs
  • Movement and wellness opportunities
  • Lifelong learning and arts programming
  • A safe, accessible gathering space
  • Door to door transportation for Senior Center members
• 20–25 affordable senior apartments on the upper level to provide stable, low-income housing

This innovative model addresses isolation, food insecurity, and housing instability together.

The mission of Encompass Community Supports (formerly known as Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services) is to improve the quality of life of residents of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties by providing housing, comprehensive behavioral health, substance use, developmental disability, children's and aging services.
