At Windy Hill Foundation, we believe that safe, affordable housing is just the beginning. To help families and individuals thrive, we provide free on-site programs and essential services that foster stability, financial independence, and community well-being. 

Today, Windy Hill is home to more than 800 residents across 310 housing units, ranging from standalone cottages to apartments and townhomes. In addition to providing housing across Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, Windy Hill invests more than $250,000 annually in resident services, offering free, on-site programs such as after-school academic support for children, enrichment opportunities for families, social activities for adults and seniors, and guidance around employment and financial literacy. With the support of donors and more than 50 community partners, we are able to respond to residents' needs and provide critical resources when they matter most. 

At the heart of this work are three key funds that provide stability, relief, and opportunity. The Housing Repair Fund ensures homes remain safe and livable through essential repairs and improvements. The Emergency Financial Assistance Fund provides short-term support for unexpected expenses such as rent, medical bills, utilities, and car payments, with more than $20,000 distributed in the past year. The Education Fund supports long-term success by providing financial assistance for preschool, childcare, college, and vocational programs, awarding $70,000 over the last 12 months.  

Windy Hill residents are part of the community and work across a range of local businesses - from restaurants and banks to retail establishments and schools. By providing a safety net, the Foundation is helping to foster stability in the wider community.

Every contribution helps support our neighbors. Here’s how your donation can make a tangible difference:

YOUR GIFT AT WORK:

$100 – Provides a month supply of diapers for a family with one infant.

$150 – Provides monthly essentials, such as cleaning products and toiletries for a family of four for one month.

$500 – Pays for one month of utilities for a family of four living in The Plains or Marshall.

$1,000 – Replace aging appliances from stoves, washer/dryers, fridges, and more.

$2,500 – Supports workforce development and job training programs for residents.
