$15,000 Goal

For the Cats' Sake is a non-profit organization dedicated to spaying and neutering stray, feral and domesticated cats, and finding homes for adoptable cats and kittens through our foster based rescue. Our goal is to stabilize and reduce the cat population, by providing low and no-cost spay/neutering services, and running a TNR (trap, neuter & return) program to assist residents. We also provide food, shelter and medical assistance to community cats in need.

This year is our TENTH ANNIVERSARY! We hope that all donors consider giving at least $10 for 10 years, or $20 for 10 more!

We are so excited to share that a donor is matching the first $2,000 of donations received, meaning your donation is automatically doubled!

More About Us

For the Cats' Sake was founded in Fall of 2014 and is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization. Since we began, our small but passionate group has accomplished more a great deal for our community cats, and below are some of our accomplishments.

For the Cats' Sake has:
• Fixed and vaccinated 2,229 cats and kittens! One female cat can have up to 24 kittens a year!
• Found homes for more than 1,135 cats and kittens through our foster-based adoption program.

• Rescued severely injured cats and provided emergency care to them after they have been shot at, run over or had other life threatening conditions.
• Sadly, we've also provided a humane end to the suffering of cats that cannot be helped, and are in pain. • Formed friendships and partnerships with other Rescues and local shelters, in order to work on problems together, network and share ideas.
• Raised funds through grants and fundraising events, or sales to continue to fund the work we do.
• Provided outdoor shelters for cats that prefer to be outside, but still need warmth and safety during the winter months.
• Relocated colony cats that were in dangerous locations, or found them homes. For example cats living at sites where properties were to be demolished.
• Created a team of volunteers to feed the many uncared-for local colony cats, and also fixing them to stabilize the population and finding homes if possible.
• Utilized our Facebook page to provide education about the importance of TNR and spaying and neutering pets, and fundraise/find homes for cats and kittens.

The more cats we meet, whether feral, stray or friendly - the more we love cats :)
We hope that by fixing and reducing the number of free-roaming cats, we'll prevent them from ending up in shelters and being euthanized...

2024 Goals

  1. Increase our ADOPTIONS! Last year we found 105 purrfect homes.
  2. Increase our TNR numbers! In 2023, we helped 230 cats. A single cat can have up to 100 kittens in her lifetime and kittens born outside have only a 20% chance of making it to adulthood.
  3. Renovate our main CATIO! A lot of our cats love the outside access but weather takes a toll on the structure. We would like to have something more permanent.
  4. Continue to assist and educate our community!

Testimonials

"For the Cats' Sake, it's volunteers and it's foster parents are the most wonderful people. You deserve the utmost respect and the highest appreciation for what you do for the cats. Thank you."

"For the Cats' Sake is a phenomenal organization run the way a shelter should be by a compassionate and altruistic individual. FTCS rehabilitates homeless, unwanted or neglected cats, attends to them medically and psychologically through vet care and generous amounts of TLC. One of the accomplishments that I have seen is their dedication to spaying/neutering cats, evaluating them fully for health issues (deworming, etc) and to make sure they are healthy prior to being adopted to forever homes."

"You guys are so great!!!!"

"Frances and For The Cats' Sake are the best, thank you for rescuing the 2 cats in Amissville whose owner passed away and who were left to fend for themselves. I am so happy that you were able to find them a forever home so quickly and that they are now safe, warm and won't have to wonder where and when there next meal is coming from. Thank you."

"I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you. Thank you for caring for the animals in our community. I know it's hard work. I know you're not thanked often enough for all of the little things you do. So thank you! You are making a difference. Keep it up!"

"Thank you and God bless you . I hopefully will not cry myself to sleep tonight. You are angels and you have no idea how thankful I am to have met you and your group."
