Free Clinic of Culpeper

Imagine the panic, as a single parent, of having an asthma attack that leaves you gasping for air while your young child watches with terror in their eyes.  

This is exactly what happened to Joyce, a young widow and mother who is struggling to come to terms with the recent loss of her husband.   When Joyce’s husband died, she lost not only her best friend but also the family’s income and health insurance.  Now she is struggling to keep a roof over her daughter’s head and put food on the table. 

Since losing her insurance, Joyce has avoided going to the doctor despite her chronic asthma.  The cost of medical care and the prescriptions she needs are far beyond what she can afford.
