Who We Are

The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) began in December 2000 when nine concerned citizens from Virginia’s Piedmont region were searching for solutions to the charitable needs in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties.  With modest beginnings, our funds have grown to over $38 million in support of local charities, scholarships and community need in our northern piedmont region.  NPCF manages donor assets to strengthen our four county region. In 2023, NPCF awarded $2.7 million from our donor and community funds back into our communities through our nonprofit organizations.  In 2024, NPCF will award over $371,000 to those pursuing further education, not just for two and four year colleges, but for technical training and certificate programs. NPCF hosts the annual Give Local Piedmont campaign each May.  This program connects our communities, increases awareness of our nonprofits and incentivizes giving.  Our communities’ ten-year total is over $9.2 million. In 2023, Give Local Piedmont raised $1.2 million dollars for 201 participating nonprofits, breaking the $1.0 dollar mark for the forth time. Let's do it again in 2024!
