FOUR YEARS AGO, WE BEGAN OUR DREAM - TO CREATE THE CENTER FOR COMBATING ELDER FINANCIAL ABUSE AND PIONEER A BOLD, PROACTIVE APPROACH TO PROTECT SENIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES!

We founded the Center because we believe all seniors deserve respect, dignity, and peace of mind. No one should have to endure the financial and emotional devastation caused by elder financial abuse. We believe that the threat posed by financial predators can be dramatically reduced through education—and that awareness is the first line of defense. When communities are informed, vulnerable seniors are not overlooked—they are protected!

TODAY, WE ARE PROUD TO SHARE THAT OUR DREAM IS NOW A REALITY!

The Center for Combating Elder Financial Abuse has launched a free, comprehensive website (endefa.org) filled with educational resources designed specifically for seniors and their families.

The site includes:

- Over 50 case summaries of convicted financial predators—each illustrating the tactics and techniques used to exploit seniors.

- A “Top 10 Actions To Take Now” guide to help protect loved ones from financial abuse.

- A Financial Vulnerability Survey—a simple, 17-question tool that provides a personal vulnerability score to help seniors better understand their risk. Knowing is the first step to prevention.

- Critical resources on preventing elder financial abuse–related suicides, a heartbreaking and often hidden consequence of exploitation.  Our Center learned of one elder financial abuse-related suicide in the Northern Virginia area.

- In addition to our digital tools, the Center has conducted over 30 educational presentations and participated in awareness campaigns across Fauquier, Culpeper, and Rappahannock counties. We are also proud to announce that we will be a guest presenter at the Virginia Coalition for the Prevention of Elder Abuse Annual Conference on May 14th!

OUR DREAM HAS BECOME A REALITY - BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY TO KEEP GROWING!

What began as a dream has become a meaningful and impactful reality—but our work is far from over.  There is still so much more we can do, and so many more seniors we can help protect.

If you believe every senior deserves respect, dignity, and peace of mind, please donate to the Center for Combating Elder Financial Abuse during the Give Local Piedmont campaign - happening now through May 13th!

With your help today, we can reach more seniors across our region and continue the fight to ensure they are educated, protected, and empowered.
