Just Neighbors

The mission of Just Neighbors is to provide high-quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, asylees and refugees in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia; and, to build community among clients, staff, volunteers and the larger society through education, advocacy, and volunteerism. 

Last year, Just Neighbors provided immigration legal services to 1,720 clients with 2,390 humanitarian-based cases. For nearly 30 years, Just Neighbors has helped 20,000+ clients from more than 150 countries obtain the documentation to which they are legally entitled.

We believe investing in immigration legal services positively impacts a family’s overall stability in the US. By focusing on humanitarian cases, Just Neighbors serves the most vulnerable immigrants. Our clients are:

• Refugees and asylees
• Survivors of domestic violence and violent crimes
• DREAMers (immigrants brought to the US as kids)
• Those issued Temporary Protected Status (TPS) due to armed conflict or natural disasters in their home countries
• Families seeking general advice about their status
• Trafficking victims
• Unaccompanied Minors
