Morgan's Message, Inc.

Morgan's Message® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to amplify stories, resources, and expertise to strengthen student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations, and provide a platform for advocacy. We strive to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialog on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone. 

The organization was founded in honor of Morgan D. Rodgers, a proud alum of Kettle Run High School. Morgan went on to play Division I Lacrosse at Duke University. After experiencing a devastating knee injury, Morgan suffered in silence, keeping family and friends in the dark as she battled her mental health. As a result, Morgan died by suicide on July 11, 2019, at the age of 22. We elevate her story to provide a platform where others feel brave to share their own, serve as a catalyst for change within our mental healthcare systems, and foster a community for which tomorrow always exists. Morgan's Message Education Program Chapters are established on 1,916 campuses and led by nearly 7,000 volunteer student-athlete Ambassadors at the high school and collegiate levels across 48 states, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, South Africa, and Canada.  Included in these numbers, we are proud to have nearly 100 passionate local student-athletes leading over 3,000 Advocates from the following local schools, including Fauquier High School, Kettle Run High School, Liberty High School, Culpeper County High School, Eastern View High School, Rappahannock High School, and Highland School, as members of the Morgan's Message Team!
