$6,000 Goal

We want children to find a spark that develops into a lifelong love of learning.

Help us start the spark.

At PlayDate: A Children's Museum, we believe kids learn best through play. Our mission is to provide the children of Culpeper and the surrounding counties with a place to learn through interactive, hands-on play. Our museum includes pretend play centers to foster imagination and creative thinking as well as STEAM toys to promote critical thinking and innovation.

Our programs include a free monthly STEM event on Science Saturday, a story of the week, and a craft of the week. We also host Sensory Friendly Hours once a month so children with sensory needs are able to enjoy the museum with a small crowd, dim lights, and no music. We partner with nonprofits such as Healthy Families, Encompass, Mom2Mom, and SAFE to ensure all families are able to access the museum.

Our goal is to expand our exhibits to include more simple machines to make learning even more interactive!

Thank you for helping us achieve that goal!

"Scientists recently determined it takes 400 repetitions of an act of learning or skill to create a new synapse in the brain- unless it is done with play, in which case it takes between 10-20 repetitions." -Dr. Karyn Purvis
