At Windy Hill Foundation, we believe that safe, affordable housing is just the beginning. To help families and individuals thrive, we provide free on-site programs and essential services that foster stability, financial independence, and community well-being.

Ranging from standalone cottages to 1-3 bedroom apartments and townhomes, Windy Hill houses more than 800 residents across 310 units. In addition to managing these housing units across both counties, Windy Hill also commits more than $250,000 annually to provide free, on-site programs – including after school academic support for children, enrichment activities for families, social activities for adults and seniors, and guidance around finances and employment – to help residents build capacity, mitigate socio-economic barriers and, ultimately, transition to market rate housing.

With increasing support from sponsors, donors, and more than 50 partner organizations, including churches, food banks, schools and foundations, Windy Hill has been able to offer scholarships. Since 2023, the Foundation has provided more than $150,000 in scholarships to residents and their children.

With your support, Windy Hill will be able to continue to empower local residents with education – a donation of any size can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Working with local partners—including Grace Montessori, Middleburg Montessori, Mountainside Montessori, and Piedmont Child Care Center—our Nest to Wings Scholarship Program assists local residents with the cost of early childhood education. Meanwhile, our Horizon Scholarship Program provides financial support to residents who wish to earn a college degree or simply continue their education, helping them achieve academic goals that can open the door to enhanced career opportunities.

Your Gift at Work

Every contribution helps support our neighbors. Here’s how your donation can make a tangible difference:

Meet your neighbor, John Kwon, a recipient of a Windy Hill education scholarship: “I was and still am very thankful that I was able to receive a partial scholarship and tuition assistance from Windy Hill Foundation.” In 2019, as part of the financial aid scholarship agreement with Windy Hill, John started volunteering with the Foundation’s Summer Camp. “I was grateful for that experience because it gave me the opportunity to be in a leadership position. We took many trips and had many fun adventures that summer in The Plains.” - John Kwon

Meet your neighbor, Helena Reid, a working mother of four and recipient of a Windy Hill education sponsorship: “Having the opportunity to work towards a CNA certification through Windy Hill is going to change my life. I will learn the skills I need to continue working and taking care of my family.” In addition to Helena’s CNA program scholarship, her three oldest children attend Montessori School through Windy Hill’s Nest to Wings Program which helps with the cost of early childhood education for Windy Hill children. “I don’t know what I would have done without Windy Hill. They help me with childcare, clothes for the kids, everything. Michelle [Director of Resident Services] even helped me get work scrubs when I started my job. Windy Hill has made such an impact on my family.” - Helena Reid

We have a match! - Your donation now holds twice the impact thanks to this year's donor match - Executive Director, Eloise Repeczky!

A Note from Eloise:

"I am honored to offer a match to support our Education fund. As a recipient of financial aid, I have personally benefited from the generosity of others, and I now see how our neighbors’ lives have changed when we support their education pursuits. I have the pleasure of meeting with residents, long-time supporters, and with our invaluable partner organizations. I hope you will join me in supporting Windy Hill through Give Local Piedmont, and I'm pleased to offer a matching gift!"  -Eloise Repeczky
