The Culpeper Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, foster-based rescue driven by a simple but powerful vision: a no-kill community where every animal is safe, cared for, and given a chance at a loving home.

Every day, we step in for animals who have nowhere else to turn—reducing shelter intake, increasing lifesaving outcomes, and connecting pets with people whose lives they transform. From providing critical medical care to offering safe, nurturing foster homes, our work exists because our community chooses to care.

As the only rescue in Culpeper County serving both dogs and cats, we see firsthand the growing need—and the incredible impact that compassionate support can make.

Where does your donation go?

At the Culpeper Humane Society, 100% of your donations go directly to the animals. Every dollar helps provide essential care such as medical treatment, food, and shelter for the pets in our community. With your generous support, we ensure that every animal receives the attention and resources they need to find a loving forever home. 

Our Programs

SPAYING/NEUTERING - We provide low-cost spaying/neutering services to the community keeping pets healthy and reducing the number of surrendered, abandoned and unwanted pets. 

PET FOOD PANTRY - Assists the families of Culpeper by providing food for the animals of seniors on a fixed income, veterans, families experiencing financial hardship and those with disabilities through our pet food pantry. 

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE - CHS provides financial assistance for medical procedures or medications to sick or injured pets where and when possible. 

ANIMAL FOSTERING - CHS has a strict no-kill policy. All animals remain in foster care until adopted. Our devoted volunteers provide a home, training as needed, and loving care to fosters.
