LFVFRC proudly protects the quality of life, social, economic and environmental infrastructure of the northern end of Culpeper County, Virginia. We provide trained, certified, volunteer personnel to respond to emergencies. We are one of the few volunteer fire and rescue companies in the Commonwealth that responds to 100 percent of our calls.
In 2019, 77 LFVFRC volunteer members dedicated a total of responded to 698 incidents (100% response rate to all emergency callas and a 10.4% increase over 2018), saved $1.87 million of property; saved several lives and saved $42,000 worth of livestock. Local local fire insurance rates were lowered by more than $2.1 million. Recently the Insurance Services Office (ISO) reduced our fire rating to a Class 05/5Y.
During the past year our internationally-recognized Volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team has saved more than $74,200 worth of livestock and has received world-wide social media attention and press mentions for a few of our dramatic horse rescues. We are the only all volunteer large animal rescue team in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of only 25 large animal rescue teams in the entire United States.
