About Us

People Incorporated helps economically disadvantaged people improve their lives, families and communities in Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties as their designated Community Action Agency. 

People Incorporated has been in the business of changing lives for over 60 years. Founded in 1964, we offer over 30 services and programs tailored to the communities we serve. Last year, we assisted over 9,200 people in building futures and realizing their dreams through our numerous housing, financial, and community services.

In the Piedmont region, we work with partners to:

• house homeless individuals and provide them supportive services;
• provide high-quality affordable rental housing and supportive services to low-income families;
• support small business owners and the local economy with small business loans;
• promote financial freedrom through low-interest personal loans;
• help individuals released from prison learn how to confidently reintegrate with family, community, and the job market;
• offer Matched Savings Accounts through the RISE program, helping qualified individuals to save for home ownership, post-secondary education, transportation, small business ownership and other life-building opportunities; and
•  assist with free income tax preparation.

This year's donation through Give Local Piedmont will help homeless individuals, low-income families, and individuals returning from incarceration achieve financial stability, access benefits, find employment, and overcome other barriers to self-sufficiency throughout the Foothills region of Virginia – in Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties.
