Every week, families from across our community walk through the doors of The Fig Leaf. Some arrive after losing a job, others after unexpected medical bills, and many are parents simply trying to stretch every dollar. They all share one thing in common—the need for clothing, dignity, and hope.

At The Fig Leaf, we provide that hope through something as simple, yet powerful, as free clothing. A warm coat in the winter. A pair of shoes that fit growing feet. Professional attire for someone stepping into a new job. Each piece of clothing carries more than fabric—it carries comfort, relief, and the reminder that no one is alone.

But as the needs of our neighbors grow, our little space is struggling to keep up. What began as a small clothing closet has blossomed into a vital lifeline for hundreds of individuals and families every year. Our racks and shelves are overflowing, our volunteers are constantly reorganizing, and still we don’t have enough room to serve everyone with the care and dignity they deserve.

We’ve reached a turning point. To continue serving well—and to welcome even more neighbors in need—we must grow.

Our vision is simple but transformative: a larger, more local space where families can shop with dignity, volunteers can serve with joy, and donations can be stored and displayed properly. Imagine walking into a welcoming, organized, bright space where every parent can find clothing for their child, every teen can pick out something that makes them feel confident, and every neighbor feels embraced by community.
