Can You Help Us Feed Our

'Neighbors in Need'?

Here at Fauquier FISH, we are neighbors helping neighbors with kindness and respect just as we would want to be treated in a time of need. We are driven by a desire not just to 'do good' but to 'do better.'

Over 1,500 of Fauquier's residents rely on us for monthly food support. While some of the food we provide comes through donations, the vast majority is purchased by us, at regular retail price, from local grocery stores. With costs at an all-time high, our 'new norm' means spending $25,000 a month on food for our pantry, Weekend Power Pack, and senior delivery programs. Each of our programs serve a very important need in the community, read more below!

Your donation will help us purchase food for Fauquier families, children, and seniors!

More about our Programs

Food Pantry

Our food pantry is client choice. Families select the food they want from our current menu. Menu selections include non-perishables as well as breads, produce, meat, and dairy items. A signature of Fauquier FISH's pantry are our DASH (Delicious, Affordable, Simple, and Healthy) meal kits. DASH meals include a recipe and all of the ingredients (even spices!) needed to prepare a meal. Families are able to choose from numerous DASH dinner, lunch, and sides kits during each visit.  On average, FISH serves 120 families each month through our pantry.

Weekend Power Pack Program

Our Weekend Power Pack program is a collaboration with Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS1) and Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health (FRESH) to ensure children at risk of hunger have access to nutritious food during weekends, school holidays, snow days, and summer break.  Each week, FISH sends food home with 540 students across Fauquier county

Senior Supplemental Nutrition

Each month, FISH visits the homes of over 60 at-risk seniors, delivering easy to prepare meals and pantry staples, with a focus on dietary restrictions.  Our partnership with the Department of Social Services helps us identify our community's most vulnerable senior citizens.

Book Bag and School Supplies Program

The cost of school supplies is often a great financial burden for families. Fauquier FISH, with the support of the community, provides over 800 children with new book bags and supplies each August through our Book Bag & School Supplies Program.

DOING GOOD, DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULDN'T DO BETTER.

Our Vision

We envision Fauquier County as a place where no one goes hungry and anyone in need has a place to turn.

Our Values

Nutrition:  The most economically poor are also the most nutritionally poor. We aim to provide DASH meals, delicious, affordable, simple, and healthy meals.

Empowerment:  We provide the tools and means necessary for our clients to build confidence while also providing a safe and welcoming environment with no judgement.

Advocacy:  We will be a voice in the community about hunger and nutrition.

Respect:  We are neighbors helping neighbors; treating others as we would want to be treated.

Collaboration: Together as a community, we can achieve a greater good.

Integrity:  We act with honesty, trust, and openness with donors, volunteers, clients, and within the law.

Humility:  We understand no one is protected from unforeseen circumstances that may result in a need for help.
